InVitro

“To what is hidden, to the invisible microcosm.”

In Vitro is about cancer cells, lethal viruses, seaweed, spores, invisible microorganisms, and bacteria, which could compromise the vital organisms in which they live.

The artist reworked versions of these lethal elements through graphic reproduction and their highlighted aesthetic value as a futile but necessary attempt to legitimize their existence.

Each petri dish is specific to a microorganism and is identified by a name tag. This is filled with honey that creates an environment that nourishes and multiplies the microorganisms it contains. This process shows the microorganisms’ vital structures and movement.
